Chatham natives Rachel Schwarz and Jamie Hillman performing at the Kiwanis Theatre

Chatham natives Jamie Hillman and Rachel Schwarz are excited to present an evening full of memorable music for a special, one-night-only event on Friday, November 20, at 8 p.m.

The concert will feature singer Rachel Schwarz and pianist/composer Jamie Hillman in a variety of music from Broadway hits to Barbra Streisand classics. The concert will also feature beautiful new music from composer Hillman, as well as a variety of folk and classical numbers. Schwarz and Hillman are joined by an amazing group of musicians including: Jennifer Trinca, violin; Leanne Hessel, cello; Grant Van Dyke, flute; Paul Schwarz, vocals; Heather Kosik, dancer; and Elisabeth Enzlin and the Chatham Christian School Choir and PURE Youth Choir.

Jamie Hillman, a doctoral candidate in Conducting at Boston University is a multi-faceted musician who has won awards as a singer, pianist, composer and conductor. Holding an ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music, a B. Mus from the University of Western Ontario and an M. Mus from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Hillman has also served as Lecturer in Voice at Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, AB, and as a music festival adjudicator from coast to coast. Jamie maintains an active solo schedule in addition to serving as Choral Conductor at Grace Chapel in Lexington, the largest church in New England.

Rachel Schwarz is an award winning vocalist, dramatic artist, choral conductor and performer. Rachel has starred in a variety of sold-out performances in the area from Opera to Broadway Cabaret. Rachel has studied choral conducting at the University of Western Ontario, and has conducted choirs in London andChatham. Rachel founded the PURE Youth Choir, and is

The Director of Music at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Chatham. Rachel has studied singing in Canada, the US and overseas, and currently studies with Robert Swensen at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Rachel is a highly sought after voice instructor, and enjoys working as an accompanist in addition to her duties as the Director of Special Projects at the PURE Academy for the Performing Arts in Chatham.
